Summer Festival Days at the Springfield Museums will continue from Aug. 5-8 with "Summer Carnival." Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.
Tuesday, Aug. 5 Color carnival scenes and clown masks, and make a pinwheel. Wednesday, Aug. 6 Performance: Butterworth Productions presents "Carnival of the World," a colorful, multi-cultural marionette show, 1 p.m. Strolling magic on the Quadrangle Green, 1:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Live animal demonstrations, 12:15-12:45 p.m. Balloon animals on the Quadrangle Green, 2-3:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 Mr. Magichead will perform walk-around magic on the museum grounds, 12:30-1 p.m. Performance: Mr. Magichead presents "The Super Stupendous Magic Show," 1 p.m. Live animal demonstrations, 12:15-12:45 p.m. Friday, August 8 Performance: Sing and dance with Yuri, "Prince of Color," 1 p.m. Ongoing activities, Tuesday through Friday: Pan for gems and fossils at the Museum Mining Company, noon-4 p.m. (additional fee) Art-making workshops, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Hands-on Family Science Adventures, Tues. – Thurs., 2-4 p.m.; Fri., noon-2 p.m. Planetarium shows, 11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m., Science Museum (additional fee).
