Enjoy performances of some of your Favorite Fables during Summer Festival Days from August 12-15 at the Springfield Museums. Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.
Tuesday, Aug. 12 Create your own book and magic scratch bookmark, and make a silly monster mask. Wednesday, Aug. 13 Performance: Spring Valley Puppet Theater presents "Jack and the Beanstalk," 1 p.m. (recommended for ages 5 and up.) Live animal demonstrations, 12:15-12:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 Performance: Explore ancient Greek mythology with "MythMasters," 1 p.m. Live animal demonstrations, 12:15-12:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 Performance: Tanglewood Marionettes present "Cinderella," 1 p.m. Ongoing activities, Tuesday through Friday: Pan for gems and fossils at the Museum Mining Company, noon-4 p.m. (additional fee) Art-making workshops, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Hands-on Family Science Adventures, Tues. – Thurs., 2-4 p.m.; Fri., noon-2 p.m. Planetarium shows, 11:15 a.m., noon, 1 & 2 p.m., Science Museum (additional fee).
