Before the museum opens its doors, the city-wide celebration will begin with an evening hosted by Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel.

Cavalcade of Conveyances
A parade down the famed Mulberry Street immortalized by children's author and Springfield native Theodor Seuss Geisel, in honor of the opening of The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss. Led by the giant Cat in the Hat balloon and ending on the Springfield Museums’ campus, the procession will include antique cars and other vehicles as well as dignitaries and Springfield school children.
Performance: SHOW Circus
Stilt walkers, handwalking, contortions, acrobatics, unicycling, and amazing aerial performances! Enjoy the SHOW Circus tribute to Dr. Seuss on the Quadrangle.
Magical Moments with Ed Popielarcyzk
Visit strolling magician Ed Popielarcyzk in the Springfield Science Museum to be entertained and amazed!
Springfield All Youth (SAY) Festival
Enjoy music performed by students of the Community Music School of Springfield, including bucket drummers, Prelude Preschool of the Arts, elementary, middle, and high school students from across the city. Listen for student-composed musical tributes to Dr. Seuss!
