Museum School Offers Spring Courses for Children and Adults – February 2009

Registration for spring courses for children and adults at the Museum School of the Springfield Museums begins February 23.


After school classes for kids include Artistic Discovery for ages 6-8; Drawing and Painting Secrets for ages 9-11; Museum Designers: Studio One for ages 14-17; and Creative Writing for ages 14-17.  Saturday morning children’s classes are Springtime Little Explorers for ages 5-7; From Trash to Treasure and More Trash to Treasure for ages 5-7; and That’s Gross! for ages 8-11.

 

Courses for adults include stenciling, creative writing, culinary arts, genealogy, nature photography, graphic design, faux finishes, stained glass techniques, tarot, silk painting, quilting, scrapbooking, drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, and pottery.

 

Registration is currently underway for the following day trips: Bush-Holley House and Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Ct., on April 15; the Currier Museum of Art and Frank Lloyd Wright Zimmerman House on May 6; and the Boston MFA and Arnold Arboretum on June 17. A six-night trip to Charleston and Savannah featuring the Spoleto Festival is planned for May 31-June 6, and a two-night trip to New York City is scheduled for August 6-8. A 12-day trip to Greece is planned for May 13-25.
