Dr. Seuss Playgroup
Come explore hands-on play and activity stations, make new friends, and learn about our world. Open to all children 0-5 with their caregivers. Activities may include puzzles, art activities, photo booth, exploring Dr. Seuss’ short stories on tablets, puppets, sensory bins, and Playdoh.
Magician Jungle Jim
This show combines balloon artistry, magic, comedy and improv to create an amazing experience for children. High-energy, interactive, and, most-importantly, fun, Jungle Jim’s unique performance will blow you away!
Seussian Gallery Activities
Wear your pajamas! Join the celebration and wear your comfiest, coziest pajamas for the biggest Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Party around! Dr. Seuss Cakes & Decorations, 10 am-3 pm See the real cakes and alternative creations throughout the galleries in every building, including a Seussian ice sculpture on the Quadrangle.
Members-Only Duckie Draw
Visit the Membership table in the Welcome Center for a chance to win one-of-a-kind museum experiences. Springfield Museums members only. One draw per family, per day.
Meet Pikachu
Catch the star of Pokemon Go! as he roams the galleries! Lures will be dropped all over the campus, so grab your smartphone, load up on poke balls and catch some wild Pokemon.
Interskate 91
The crew from the skating and fun center leads their favorite floor games, including Hot Potato, Rowboat Races, Limbo and Four Corners. Free with museum admission!
Performance: Mr. Vinny
Little Puppet Show Mr. Vinny, founder of the popular Toe Jam Puppet Band, tells the story of "The 12 Lil' Pigs and the Big Bad Pineapple" and invites the audience to play a game of 'What's that Shadow?"
Performance: Malik the Magic Guy
Malik is a full time comedy magician with over 25 years of experience performing for family, corporate and college audiences. Come and enjoy this laugh filled magic show featuring magic with sports equipment, sleight of hand, and other fun surprises.
Fun & Games in the Galleries
Pokemon Go!, 10 am-5 pm We’ll be dropping 3 lures per day across our campus. Grab your smart phone, load up on pokeballs, and start searching! Design Your Own Board Game, 11 am-3 pm We’ll provide boards, spaces, spinners, and cards – everything you need to get started to create and play your very own board game!
