The Springfield Museums’ Summer Celebration series continues August 15-19 with live performances presented at 1 pm on Toe-Tapping Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, and Fun Friday.
Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted. Summer Celebration is sponsored in part by Berkshire Bank.
Daily Activities, August 15-19
- See a huge, moving robotic Tyrannosaurus rex, dig for fossils, and control your own computer-simulated dinosaur in the special exhibit Be the Dinosaur (additional fee)
- Hands-on Family Science Adventures, 10 am-1 pm
- Planetarium Shows, 11:15 am, noon, 1 pm, and 2 pm (additional fee)
- Art-making activity: Make a Barnyard Bookmark, noon-3:45 pm
- Pan for gems and minerals in the Museum Mining Company’s river sluice (additional fee)
Tuesday, August 16
- Performance: Spaghetti Cake: A Rock Band for the Whole Family featuring rock, bluegrass, country, blues, and reggae, 1 pm
Wednesday, August 17
- Performance: Deluxe Magic Concert by Bonaparte, illusions, comedy and interaction, 1 pm
Friday, August 19
- Performance: Bugtown Follies by the Robert Rogers Puppet Company, hilarious vaudeville pageant featuring acrobatic ants and tap-dancing spiders, 1 pm
