Family Program Creates a Buzz about New Public Television Show for Kids
The Springfield Museums and WGBY Public Television are pairing up to present “The Buzz about Bees Family FunFest” on Friday, August 27, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the museums.
Walking Tour – August 2010
Springfield architect Stephen Jablonski will present “The Architect’s View of the New Wood Museum of Springfield History” on Saturday, August 14, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. He will take the group into the museum and discuss how he turned the building from an empty office building that had been partitioned into hundreds of cubicles into an expansive, attractive exhibition space. He will also discuss plans for future improvements along Edwards Street.
It’s Super Science Week at the Springfield Museums

Free Outdoor Concerts at the Quadrangle – 2010
Bring a picnic supper, a blanket or a lawn chair and join the Springfield Museums and the Armoury-Quadrangle Civic Association for “Wednesdays in the Park,” a series of three free live music concerts by local musicians. The concerts will be held on Wednesdays in August from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Quadrangle green. If it rains, the performances will be held in the auditorium of the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.

Brick Artist to Create Sculpture from LEGO® Bricks at Museum
New York artist Nathan Sawaya will create a sculpture out of LEGO building bricks at the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, July 31, from 11 am-3 pm The Art of the Brick, an exhibition of Sawaya’s LEGO sculptures, is on view at the museum through September 5.
