Science Museum Holds Earth Day Clean-Up
The Springfield Science Museum is holding its 20th annual Earth Day Clean-up on Saturday, May 1, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
May 2010 Museums à la Carte Programs
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in May. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
Science Museum Celebrates Astronomy Day
The Springfield Museums’ Weekend Family Fun series will continue with Astronomy Day on Saturday, April 24. Activities will take place at the Springfield Science Museum from 11 am to 4 pm and are free with museum admission unless noted.
Exhibit of Paintings by Local Artist on View at D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts
The Mechanics of Introspection, an exhibition of paintings by East Longmeadow artist Kris Ludwig, is on view in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts through July 11, 2010.
Museum Talk Examines Springfield’s Role in the Gold Rush
The new Museum of Springfield History will conclude its spring lecture series at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, with a talk titled “Springfield and the California Gold Rush.” The program will be held in the museum’s SIS Hall and is free with the price of museum admission.

April 2010 Vacation Week Activities Highlight Earth Day
The Springfield Museums will celebrate Earth Day with the annual Earth Day Festival on April 18 followed by “Honor the Earth,” a week of Earth-friendly school vacation week activities from April 19-23. Activities are free with museum admission unless noted.
Walking Tour to Highlight Court Square Area
Brian Connors, deputy director of Springfield’s Office of Planning & Economic Development and a member of the Springfield Preservation Trust, will lead a walking tour focused on the Court Square area on Saturday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The tour will begin at the Springfield Museums.
Stars Over Springfield at the Springfield Science Museum
The Springfield Science Museum’s large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, April 2, at 7:30 pm. The program will be held rain or shine. If it is overcast, a planetarium show will be presented in place of telescope viewing.
