Dinosaurs are Coming to Springfield
Huge, moving, roaring dinosaurs are invading the Science Museum from Feb. 7 through May 10, 2009, in the exhibition Reptiles, Dinosaurs and Birds: The Real Connection.

The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Sunday, February 8, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. with "Dinosaurs, Reptiles and Birds." Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.
February 2009 Museums à la Carte Programs
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in February. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
Nominees Being Sought for 2009 Ubora Award
The African Hall Subcommittee of the Springfield Museums is seeking nominations for the 18th annual Ubora Award. The award is presented to an African-American individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the Springfield community and exhibited excellence in the fields of community service, science, education, humanities or the arts. Nominations must be received by March 31, 2009.
Make a Splash at the Springfield Museums Family Fun Program
The Springfield Museums' Family Fun series will continue on Monday, January 19, with "Under the Sea." Activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free with museum admission unless noted.
Exhibit of Currier & Ives Prints Features Religious Themes
Although the firm of Currier & Ives is known primarily for its idealized images of rural life in America, the firm also published more than 350 lithographs featuring religious and moralistic themes. A selection of these will be on view at the Michele & Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts from January 20 through June 7 in the exhibition Divinity: Religious Images by Currier & Ives.

Echoes: Portraits of the Female Spirit, an exhibition of mixed media paintings by Amherst, Mass., artist Oriole Farb Feshbach, will be featured from January 13-April 5 in the Community Gallery at the Michele & Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts.

The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, Jan. 2, at 7:30 p.m. The program will be held rain or shine. If it is overcast, a planetarium show will be presented in place of telescope viewing.
Spend December Vacation at the Museums
