Currier & Ives Panel Discussion – 2006
The Museum of Fine Arts will present the panel discussion Currier & Ives: Visions of America on Sunday, January 7, at 2 p.m. in the museum's Davis Auditorium. The program is free with the price of museum admission.
January 2006 Museums à la Carte
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in January. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Stars Over Springfield
The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, January 5, at 7:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Springfield Stars Club vice president Michael Kozicki, who will preview the most striking celestial objects and events of 2007, including a total lunar eclipse that will occur on March 3.
Verizon Grant
The Springfield Museums have received $20,000 from the Verizon Foundation to develop technology-based educational programs for the planned new Museum of Springfield History and Technology. The donation is the first installment of a three-year, $60,000 grant.
December 2006 School Vacation Week
Families are invited to enter the magical world of lords, ladies and knights in shining armor at a "Medieval Faire" at the Springfield Museums from December 26-30. Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.

The Museum School at the Quadrangle is offering the following courses for young people this winter. Registration begins December 11. The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. with Holiday Happenings. Activities are free with museum admission unless noted. Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Banknorth.
Holiday Exhibits
Two light-hearted exhibits opening Friday, November 24 at the Springfield Museums will help launch the holiday season.
