New Currier & Ives Exhibit Opens at D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts

This month, the Springfield Museums unveiled a new exhibit of Currier & Ives prints from the collection of the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts. The display, titled The Connoisseurship of Currier & Ives, is on view through June 15, 2014. The Museum is home to one of the largest permanent collections of Currier & Ives prints.

Next week, the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts will unveil two exhibits to help usher in the holiday season. A Peek Inside Santa’s Sack: Vintage Cast Iron Toys and Season’s Greetings: Photographer’s Holiday Cards both open on November 12, 2013 and run through January 5, 2014. In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Springfield Museums is offering free admission to current or retired members of the military on Monday, November 11. The Springfield Museums’ monthly tour and lecture schedule continues in November with the popular Thursday Museums à la Carte lectures, held weekly at 12:15 p.m. in the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts. Admission is $4 ($2 for members of the Springfield Museums); visitors are invited to bring lunch (cookies and coffee are provided). The programs are sponsored by Big Y World Class Market.
