An exhibition of watercolor paintings by the late Springfield-born artist Robert Woolfe will be on view from July 22 through September 28 at the Michele and Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts. A reception with members of Woolfe's family will be held on July 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the museum. The reception is free and open to the public.
Artist Robert Markey will present a two-day Mosaic Workshop for adults at the Springfield Museums on August 7 and 8, from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Participants will work with stone, glass and ceramic tiles and learn the techniques of cutting and grouting to complete two pieces. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has reappointed Joseph Carvalho, president and executive director of the Springfield Museums, to the board of directors of the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities (MFH). Carvalho is one of only six of the foundation's 25 board members who are appointed by the governor.
