Stars Over Springfield at the Science Museum
The Springfield Science Museum’s large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, October 5, at 7:30 pm. The program will be held rain or shine. If it is cloudy, a planetarium show will be presented in place of telescope viewing.

The Springfield Museums will begin its third season of Culture & Cocktails events with Oktoberfest: The Art of the Brew on Thursday, October 4 from 5-8 pm at the Lyman and Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History. The evening is sponsored by FieldEddy Insurance.
Springfield Museums to Host Native American Harvest Festival
The Springfield Museums will host a Native American Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 6, from 10 am. to 4 pm on the Quadrangle Green. Outdoor admission and activities are free.
Museums Offer Free Open House for Teachers
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will host a free open house for teachers on Thursday, October 18, from 4-6 pm. Wine and cheese will be served.
Springfield Museums Host Vintage Car Show
The Springfield Museums will pay tribute to Springfield’s role in transportation history with the History on the Move car show on Saturday, September 22, from 10 am to 3 pm, on the museum grounds at the Quadrangle. Pre-1980 cars, including vintage automobiles manufactured in Springfield, will be exhibited.
5K Walk/Run to Benefit the Springfield Museums
The Springfield Museums will be the beneficiary of a Run/Walk sponsored by Smith & Wesson Corp. on Sunday, September 23.
Museum School to Hold Open House
The Museum School at the Springfield Museums will host an open house on Sunday, September 9, from 1 to 4 pm. The event will be held in the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Art Exhibition Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
The exhibition Sisterhood: Mixed Media Paintings by Rosa Ibarra will be on view at the Michele & Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts from September 15 through October 14.
