Springfield Museums Announce Fall Hours and Planetarium Schedule
The Springfield Museums will resume fall hours on September 1. Hours at all four museums are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am-5 pm, and Sunday, 11 am-5 pm.
2012 Ubora Award and Ahadi Youth Award Recipients to be Honored
The African Hall Subcommittee of the Springfield Museums will present the 21st annual Ubora Award and the 4th annual Ahadi Youth Award at a ceremony on Saturday, September 15, at 6 pm., at the Michele & Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts at the Quadrangle. City Councilor E. Henry Twiggs has been selected to receive the Ubora Award, and Miss Dana Adrianna Lawes will receive the Ahadi Youth Award.
Springfield Museums' Sara Orr to retire after 30-year career promoting Quadrangle
A cultural icon at the Springfield Museums is retiring and, no, it is not a portrait or sculpture from one of the museums’ many collections but a face known to both visitors and media types who report on the Quadrangle.
Springfield Museums Awarded Prestigious Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services
The Springfield Museums have been awarded a highly competitive Museums for America grant of $150,000 from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) toward the creation and installation of “The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss,” an interactive, literacy-based exhibit for children.
Final Week of Summer Spectacular Programs
The Springfield Museums “Summer Spectacular” series of family fun will conclude the week of August 13-17 with a medieval minstrel show, Arabic dance and music, and a marionette performance of Peter and the Wolf in addition to special exhibitions and activities. Walking Tour to View the Oldest Buildings in Springfield
Bob McCarroll, a member of the Springfield Preservation Trust and Springfield Historical Commission, will lead a walking tour to view some of the oldest buildings in the city on Saturday, August 11, from 10:30 am-noon.

There will be no charge to visit the Springfield Museums on Friday, July 27. The free admission is made possible by a grant from the Highland Street Foundation in Newton, Mass.
