Springfield Museums Need Volunteers
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle are recruiting volunteer docents to conduct tours and programs for children and adults in the two Springfield Art Museums and in the Springfield Science Museum.
Hail to the Chief: Power, Politics and Presidents Portrayed by Currier & Ives
Just in time for the Fourth of July and in anticipation of the November presidential election, the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts is presenting an exhibition that pays tribute to the American Presidency. Hail to the Chief: Power, Politics and Presidents Portrayed by Currier & Ives will be on view from June 26, 2012 through January 20, 2013.
Indian Motocycle Day is Back!
The Springfield Museums will present their third annual Indian Day, a revival of the long-standing celebration and rally of the classic motorcycles that were manufactured in the city from 1901 to 1953.
Have a Spectacular Summer at the Springfield Museums
Family fun is in store for visitors to the Springfield Museums from July 9 through August 17 during “Summer Spectacular,” six weeks of live performances, music, puppet shows, art activities, and hands-on science activities. Live performances will be offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted.
Rare Antique Auto Now on View at Wood Museum of Springfield History
The oldest surviving Stevens-Duryea automobile is now on view in the Lyman & Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History. The 1903 vehicle is on loan from a private collector.
Walking Tour – June 2012
Sue Heller, a planner with a strong interest in urban design, will lead a downtown walking tour on Saturday, June 9, from 10:30 am-noon. She will highlight some of the modern buildings in the State Street area, some of which have a quirky appeal.
Tiffany Windows and Lamps on View at D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts
Tiffany stained glass lamps and church windows will be displayed in two colorful exhibitions opening June 12 at the Michele & Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts at the Quadrangle.

The Springfield Museum have announced new admission prices for June 1 through August 31.
Summer Kickoff Party at the Springfield Museums
Celebrate the start of the summer season at Springfield Museums’ Culture & Cocktails event on Thursday, June 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. on the Quadrangle grounds. If it rains, the event will be held in the Lyman and Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History.
