Stars Over Springfield at the Science Museum
The Springfield Science Museum’s large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, January 6, at 7:30 pm. The program will be held rain or shine. If it is cloudy, a planetarium show will be presented in place of telescope viewing.

December 2011 Vacation Fun at the Springfield Museums
Have fun during December school vacation with “Wacky Week” at the Springfield Museums. The Museums will be open regular hours Monday, Dec. 26-Friday, Dec. 30. Vacation week activities will take place from Tuesday through Friday and are free with the price of museum admission unless noted. “Wacky Week” is part of the Museums’ Family Fun series and is sponsored by TD Bank through the TD Charitable Foundation.

Old Masters to Monet: Three Centuries of French Painting from the Wadsworth Atheneum will premier at the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield from December 13, 2011, through April 29, 2012.
Hasbro GameLand to Open at the Wood Museum of Springfield History
Hasbro GameLand, a dynamic new hands-on exhibit for children, will open to the public on November 25 in the Lyman and Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History at the Quadrangle. Made possible by a grant from the Hasbro Children’s Fund, the exhibit pays tribute to Springfield entrepreneur Milton Bradley and explores games of memory, chance, speed, imagination, strategy and word play. Opening day festivities will include family activities and appearances by the costumed characters MR. POTATO HEAD, PRINCESS FROSTINE and ELEFUN from popular Hasbro toys and games.
Celebrate the Season with 2011 Holiday Fun at the Springfield Museums
The Springfield Museums will kick off the holiday season with an afternoon of family fun and an early evening Lighting of the Quadrangle celebration on Friday, Nov. 25.
Walking Tour to Visit Springfield Armory
Richard Colton, Park Ranger and interpreter for the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, will lead a walking tour of the Armory and surrounding area on Saturday, November 12, from 10:30 am-noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums on the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards Street.
