150th Anniversary Exhibition
Hundreds of unusual objects, ranging from a Fijian war club to a little girl's needlework sampler from the early 1800s to "gold" Santa Claus coins handed out by the former Johnson's Bookstore, are on view at the Springfield Science Museum until January 6 in the exhibition 150 Years of Giving: Collectors and their Contributions.
Museums à la Carte – November 2007
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in December. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Stars Over Springfield
The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m.
Thanksgiving Weekend Fun
The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue with "AbraKIDabra" on Friday, November 23, and "Winter Wishes" on Saturday, November 24. Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted. Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Banknorth.
Josh Simpson Exhibition
Josh Simpson: A Visionary Journey in Glass, 1972-2007, a retrospective exhibition highlighting more than three decades of glassblowing by one of the most acclaimed artists in the field, will be on view from November 20, 2007 through February 3, 2008 at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts.
Museum Executives Complete Leadership Program
Joseph Carvalho, president and executive director of the Springfield Museums, and Holly Smith-Bové, the Museums' chief financial officer, recently completed the Achieving Excellence executive leadership program for non-profit cultural organizations in Massachusetts.
Teacher Workshop – October 2007
The Museum of Fine Arts will present a two-part teacher workshop on Saturday, Nov. 3 and 17 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Participants will learn how to teach American history using images from the museum's collection of more than 800 Currier & Ives prints.
Halloween Program – 2007
The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, October 27, with "Hairy Scary Halloween." Activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free with museum admission unless noted.

Walking Tour – October 2007
Richard Colton, historian at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, will lead a walking tour of the grounds of the Springfield Armory on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle, 21 Edwards Street.

Native American Pow Wow – 2007
The Springfield Museums will celebrate fall with a Native American Pow Wow on Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Quadrangle grounds. The Pow Wow is part of the Museums' Weekend Family Fun series sponsored by TD Banknorth. The event is presented in collaboration with the Native American Intertribal Council of Western Massachusetts.
