New Art Exhibition
Vintage household appliances covered with hundreds of colorful pieces of broken tempered glass will be on view from July 3 through October 14 at the Museum of Fine Arts in the exhibition Domestic Reflections: Smashed Glass Assemblage by Mo Ringey.

Contemporary Art Exhibit
A panoramic overview of 20th-century art is on display at the Museum of Fine Arts through October 21 in the special exhibition Seldom Seen: Contemporary Art from the Permanent Collection.
June 2007 Museums à la Carte
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in June. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Walking Tour – May 2007
Dr. Cecelia Gross, chair of the History/Political Science Department at Springfield Technical Community College, will lead a walking tour to sites of importance to the 19th-century abolitionist movement on Saturday, June 9, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums on the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards Street.
Seuss Exhibit Extended
The special exhibition The Cat in the Hat Turns 50, on view at the Connecticut Valley Historical Museum, has been extended until August 26.
Memorial Event
An event celebrating the life of community volunteer Janee Armstrong Friedmann will be held on Wednesday, May 16, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Springfield Symphony Hall. The celebration is open to the public.
Volunteer Opportunity – 2007
The George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum at the Quadrangle is recruiting volunteer docents to conduct tours and programs for children and adults.
Nature Photography – 2007
Black and white photos by a camera artist from Leverett, Mass., are on view at the Museum of Fine Arts from May 8 through September 9 in the exhibition Explorations: Photographs by Robert Hallock. There will be a free reception with the photographer on Wednesday, June 6, from 5-7 p.m. at the museum.
Walking Tour – April 2007
Guy McLain, director of the Connecticut Valley Historical Museum, will lead a walking tour of the Quadrangle/Mattoon Street neighborhood on Saturday, May 12, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums on the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards Street, off Chestnut Street.
Japanese Children's Day
The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Japanese Children's Day. Activities are free with museum admission. Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Banknorth.
