Museums 2007 Birthday Party
The Springfield Museums will celebrate their 150th anniversary with a "Big Birthday Bash" on Sunday, October 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will feature free family entertainment and birthday cake. Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by T.D. Banknorth.

The following schedule of planetarium shows at the Springfield Science Museum will begin October 5.
October 2007 Museums à la Carte
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in October. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Walking Tour – September 2007
Springfield historian Robert McCarroll will conduct a walking tour through the area around Classical Condominiums on Saturday, October 13, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums at 21 Edwards Street.
Stars Over Springfield
The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m.
Local Artist Exhibition – September 2007
Ruta Smilskalns, an artist from Wayland, Mass., creates intriguing work form the most common object in her sewing basket, colorful spools of thread. Her "Spool Paintings" will be on view in the Community Gallery at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts from September 18, 2007 through January 13, 2008.
New Print Exhibition
Etchings of bridges ranging from spans across the Thames River to the covered bridges of Vermont will be featured in Cross That Bridge: Prints from the Permanent Collection, on view at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts through March 2, 2008.
LittleFest of Storytelling III
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will host "LittleFest of Storytelling III" on Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is free for Springfield residents.
New History Museum Proposed
The Historical Commission last night unanimously approved a conceptual plan for a $7 million Museum of Springfield History to be built on Edwards Street.
2007 Car and Motorcycle Show
The Springfield Museums will pay tribute to Springfield's role in transportation history with the second annual Automobiles and Motorcycles of Distinction show on Saturday, September 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the museum grounds at the Quadrangle. Automobiles from every decade since 1893 will be exhibited along with vintage motorcycles.

Registration for fall courses for children and teens at the Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will begin September 10.
