Contemporary Art Quilts
Quilt National '05, the fourteenth in a series of international juried competitions of art quilts, will be on view from February 13 through April 22, 2007, at the Museum of Fine Arts at the Quadrangle.
Family Fun Program – January 2007
The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, Feb. 10, with a day of dinosaur activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Springfield Science Museum. The event will celebrate the opening of Life Through Time: Dinosaurs & Ice Age Mammals, a display of huge, roaring robotic creatures.
Lecture Series
The Museum of Fine Arts has scheduled Perspectives on America, a three-part Sunday afternoon lecture series which will explore what Currier & Ives prints reveal about American history and the role they played as the precursor to the journalistic phenomena we now refer to as the "mass media."
Dinosaurs are Back! – 2007
A pack of moving, roaring prehistoric creatures will invade the Springfield Science Museum from Feb. 10 through May 13 in the exhibition Life Through Time: Dinosaurs and Ice Age Mammals.
February 2007 Museums à la Carte
The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle will present the following Museums à la Carte programs in February. The programs are held on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Stars Over Springfield
The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Springfield Stars Club President Jack Megas, who will present "The Stars and Constellations of Winter."
Abstract Art Exhibition
Dancing Partners: Moving Color Reliefs, an exhibit of mixed-media work by Henry Klein of Adams, Mass., will be on view from Jan. 30 through April 29, 2007, in the Community Gallery at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts.
Family Program – January 2006
The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Sunday, January 14, with "Whodunit? A Museum Mystery," an evening event from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Springfield Science Museum.
Currier & Ives Panel Discussion – 2006
The Museum of Fine Arts will present the panel discussion Currier & Ives: Visions of America on Sunday, January 7, at 2 p.m. in the museum's Davis Auditorium. The program is free with the price of museum admission.

Stars Over Springfield
The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, January 5, at 7:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Springfield Stars Club vice president Michael Kozicki, who will preview the most striking celestial objects and events of 2007, including a total lunar eclipse that will occur on March 3.
Verizon Grant
The Springfield Museums have received $20,000 from the Verizon Foundation to develop technology-based educational programs for the planned new Museum of Springfield History and Technology. The donation is the first installment of a three-year, $60,000 grant.
